Šnaps goes Chique!

Models:Twisted Dance Co
Make up & Styling:Liisa Saleh

These photos, taken for the Šnaps goes Chique party posters bring back some great memories and its problably one of my favourite fotoshoots I have done with the girls of Twisted. We really got into the whole 20s theme, makeup, hair, clothes,we even used the slang of 20s on the poster! I love creating looks that are derived from certain characters,icons....Josephine Baker,Flappers,Marlene Dietrich etc.
I love when I can feel some story behind pictures even if its just a fashion shoot.
Margus Karu also filmed a trailer for the event and being at the se of it felt like a party itself-check it out right here:

Astronaut-Iiris vesik @ Eesti Laul 2010 (Eurovision preselection)

Iiris bringin some magic on the stage with her otherwordly voice.

Dancers: Christin Muuli,Helina Reinjärv,Madleen Teetsov
Style & design: Liisa Saleh & Christin Muuli
Makeup & Hair:Mammu & Liisa Saleh(conception)

I have always wondered why musicians still take part of Eurovision now when it has sadly become a parody of music and pretty much a laughing stock everywhere around the world?
I have to admit that I didnt expect too much of Estonian eurovison preselection competitions before 2010.In 2010 the Estonian eurovision preselection now called Eesti laul saw some real talents like Iiris, Malcolm Lincoln, Mimicry etc.You could actually listen to the songs and not feel embarrassed for the people on the stage. You know something good was going on if all the "old fishes" in the local music industryś pond started complaining that the music is too "alternative" for this competition etc.
So I was very glad that I had the chance to do the styling and costumes for Iiris dancers together with Christin Muuli. We also had Christins mom on board who is amazing seamstress,we could not have done it without her.The dancers wearing the costumes are from Twisted Dance Co. and the coreography is by Carmel Köster, you can check out the performance here:

Alian in my bathroom January 2009

 Photos By: Johanna Rannula
 Model: Christin Muuli
 Makeup & Hair: Liisa Saleh

These photos have been taken back when I was still studying to become a makeup artist at Make Up Store school IMC.The inspiration for the look came when I was strolling around the mall and I found this weird christmas decoration which no one had  fancied for their christmas tree and therefore had been discounted like -70%.Well...I saw it as a kick-ass accessorie wich could be used as a giant pony-tail for a super-hot-alian-villain character from one of Steven Spielbergs flicks, yup and it started to roll from there...the sharp neon nails, bodypaint etc.The beautiful and multi-talented model on the picture is Christin Muuli, who is currently studying to become an actress at New York Film Academy...meeen these pictures are gonna be worth some serious cash one day...:D Many-many thanks also to the girl behind the camera- Johanna Rannula.
